Personal Care Truth started because Kristin and I were so very tired of the fear mongering and scare tactics that were, and still are, plaguing the internet. We both are very passionate about providing a place for people to educate themselves on everything surrounding personal care products. The meat of our site is providing the science; however, we also cover regulations, legislation, ingredients and questions posed for our ask the experts section.
We felt it was very important to have an open dialogue, no matter what side of the issues you may be on. PCT owners, experts and guest authors are very passionate about their position in regards to providing truthful information, based on scientific facts. We also understand there are people who disagree with our position, and are just as passionate.
Over the weekend, I came to the conclusion that for the fear mongers to win, instead of providing scientific facts to support their claims, they resort to finding fault with everything we say and do. Nothing is right, we are a bunch of liars, and have resorted to spreading lies about us, and our companies elsewhere on the internet. Having the last word is a huge plus for them.
We have a great many people that contribute to the dialogue on our Facebook page. Posts that appear here are then shared on Facebook, so we may reach more with the truth based on scientific facts. It’s actually sad that I have to write this post; however, we have always presented ourselves in a transparent manner, regardless of what the fear mongers say.
Personal Care Truth has always welcomed opposing views, as long as they are not in violation of our blog comment policy. I now believe we need to take it up a notch, because of people who strongly disagree with PCT, and resort to baiting members of a thread, in hopes of starting an argument instead of a discussion. The fact of the matter is, people with extreme opposing views can’t engage in a reasonable discussion.
Starting today, things are going to change. As always, opposing views are welcome. We encourage discussion, not arguments. There are many discussions on PCT where both sides of an issue have conducted themselves in a reasonable manner, and still managed to defend their views. Those with extreme views, who want to do nothing more than argue, or create an environment where other commentors avoid, because of the fear of being attacked, are no longer welcome at PCT. They will not be allowed to use the PCT platform here, Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, to spread their fear.
It stops today.
