There has been a great deal of information shared about the safety of cosmetics. While there are many that disagree with the various articles that appear on Personal Care Truth, there are many more who feel differently. Are you ready for your personal care product choices to diminish? If you have been accustomed to a wide variety of choices, from lotion to lip balm, then you need to get involved.
Granted, there hasn’t been any word of the senate version of the Safe Cosmetic Act, however, rest assured, it will rear its ugly head this year. The supporters of the SCA are doing a great job scaring consumers into believing the products they are using are manufactured by companies adding ingredients to purposefully cause harm. They are doing an even better job at misinterpreting a piece of legislation they helped draft. Are you ready to roll their ‘toxic’ dice? I say this because their choice of informing consumers is toxic.
Let’s look back to when cosmetics were created. The first evidence of when cosmetics were used was is in 4000B.C, in Ancient Egypt. Does anyone remember Nefertiti from their history lessons? It wasn’t until the early 20th century, which would be the 1900’s, that cosmetics became all the rage in the United States. How many people do you know have become severely ill from using cosmetics? How many people do you know have died from using cosmetics? My answer is none to both questions.
We ALL want safe cosmetics. There is absolutely no reason to debate safe cosmetics because we are all on the same page. Let’s work on informing consumers about the truth and not scaring them with myths, educated guesses and hype. Why is it so hard to believe the science? Have you thought what would happen to your favorite brand if drastic changes are made to cosmetic legislation and regulations? Changes made because of fear, not science.
Just a reminder……you can’t unring a bell.
